We’ve all heard this one: hand dryers are a breeding ground for all kinds of germs. The ventilation systems are moist and warm – just perfect for bacteria – and the air flow will undoubtedly blow them all over the place, and all over your hands.

Partially, this is true. Bacteria can indeed thrive inside a hand dryer, and they can indeed get transferred to your hands. However, there are different kinds of bacteria, and the ones that are found in these conditions are unlikely to do your health any harm. Much less than neglecting to wash your hands will.
